Dougie’s Grant – The Mill Street Community Café, LBG

We were delighted to be the first recipients of Dougie’s Grant in December, 2022! We had applied for the grant in the hope that we could use it for the refurbishment of our old kitchen.  The work took a long time to complete, but the results are spectacular!  We now have a purpose-built work area which is flexible, clean and modern.  Dougie would be happy to know that we have invited young people from the Community Hub to come to learn how to cook with us and everybody else who has seen the results of his generosity reacts with a big “wow”!  The grant has made a really big difference to the work that we are able to do.  We were overwhelmed and humbled by your generosity and thrilled to have your endorsement of our work.  Dougie was a wonderful Guernsey man and we intend to do everything we can to make him proud of us.
